I came across one of my friend’s blogs and read her post about the YouSayToo awards. All I needed to do was to write a post about my holiday dream gift worth $1000, why I want it, and why I should win. Easy enough. So here goes.

OMG.
If I had a $1,000 holiday dream gift, it would have to be this baby ($999):

I, under normal circumstances would not even think or consider buying this because I could buy a lot of other things with $1,000. In Philippine pesos, that’s enough to sustain me and my family’s basic necessities for 3 months. If I had that money, I could easily just slack off and take a break for 3 months. LOL. Kidding aside though, I would really, really love to have a Macbook. Why do I want this baby? First off, did you know that a Macbook is energy efficient and environment-friendly?

Isn’t that cool? I mean, the Macbook features and specs are great already, but being environment-friendly is just really awesome.

And aside from that, I’m a full-time WAHM. I earn online, so that means I spend at least 8 hours everyday on the computer. And I don’t have one that I own. The one I use is one that is owned by my boyfriend’s family. It’s tough enough living with my boyfriend’s family, but it’s tougher having to “borrow” the family’s computer and sit out in the living room the whole night working. It would actually be more practical to just buy a desktop PC, and with $1000, I can get one that is upgraded and really pimped up. But the house we live in is so small, we wouldn’t have any room for another desktop system. Sanjo’s and my stuff are mostly in the living room, so you could just imagine how small our room is. Which is why it is more practical for me to get a laptop instead. I chose a Macbook among all the laptop brands because it’s more secure. I posted before that I was not able to work for a few days because the computer was infected with spyware. This isn’t very good for my job, because sometimes, I am required to log on everyday, especially now that I am already working as a Virtual Assistant.

Why should I win?
Well, I have read some of the other entries for the $1000 Holiday Dream Gift awards, and I would say that everyone deserves to win, for whatever reason each one has. I know there are people out there who are probably in worse situations than I am now, but I still think my blog should win because I work hard for my family, and hey, a mom deserves a treat sometimes. This would really make not only my work easier but also my life as a whole easier because I no longer have to wait until everyone is done using the computer before I can use it, and I no longer have to stay out in the living room the whole night. I can work in the comfort of our small but cozy room where I can watch Sanjo while I work. Having this baby would also mean that since it is my own, I can work long hours and be able to earn more. AND save more so that I can finally have my little girl Sabyn back with me. My little girl hasn’t been living with me for almost a year, and it breaks my heart. But if I will just be able to earn more and save up enough, I can get her from my mom so we could be a family again.

But then, if I’m not lucky enough to win the grand prize, the Twister beach towel would be really fun. It would be really nice to unwind and have fun with my boyfriend once in awhile.
