A Wonderful Surprise

I logged in about over an hour ago, thinking how wonderfully dull my day has been, and how painful my back is. I have been having back pains ever since I gave birth, most probably from sitting down the whole day in front of the PC/laptop working and blogging. I know most of you who have known me from the day I started blogging (I was still pregnant with Sanjo then!) have been witness to my online adventures, and I really, really appreciate the fact that I have made friends online. ElCalienteMamma was started so that I could chronicle my journeys as a mom, and I was then just a newbie, just wanting to blog and earn from home. I didn’t know I could earn from blogging then, except for Adsense. Who would have known that 10 months after, I am actually earning a full time wage, right here at home? Who would have thought that I could have made so many new friends online? And who would have thought that I would ever be called as “Blogger of the Week” in any site, more so Blogger of the Week in the World Food Programme’s Bloggers against Hunger? Yes folks, that’s the “Wonderful Surprise”. When I opened my email account an hour ago and saw that message from WFP (World Food Programme) that I was chosen as this week’s Blogger, I was happy I didn’t feel the back pains anymore. No, I don’t get any special prize, but to me, it means more than any prize money or award. I feel fulfilled, and I feel that I have accomplished one of my dreams — to be able to reach out to others, and touch others’ lives. I have been through hell and back, and I surely am not one who has a squeaky clean past. I have done a lot of mistakes, but being a mother changed that. And this is just one proof that I was able to do a 360 degree turn, and be a better person than I was before.

I am proud to be part of Bloggers against Hunger, and I won’t stop there. I will still find worthy causes to join, and try to help as much as I can, in my own little way.
