Green and Brown. That’s how I remembered our furniture from when I was a child. The upholstery on our sofa and other cushions were green, while the chairs on the dining set were brown. All the tables (coffee table, side table) and dressers were mostly brown too and even the hanging cupboard was brown.
I think it’s the reason why I’m partial to brown too, because it reminds me of home and I get comfort in that. But I remember how hard it was for my mom to maintain it because the scratches that we made destroyed the natural grains of the wood.
Knowing that and the consequences of our actions, I’m now thinking that come next year, we’re going for white furniture. I’ve already browsed the products from one of the best sites I’ve seen online (The White Company) that offer white furniture and I think I have an idea of how I’d want everything to look like. Also, with white, aside from the house looking immaculate, I personally think that it would be easier to repair in case it gets damaged from stains. The walls though are another story. It’s where we add personality to the house and I’m pretty sure I’m getting some brown, cream or beige in at least 3 walls of our house.
