From a mom, to a mom

This mother’s day, I didn’t have to buy my moms flowers, or any fancy gifts. I don’t know how else I can give back to them what they have given me, and my children. From my biological mom, the gift of life; from my foster mom, the gift of love. And now it’s my turn to give it back, by helping others, by reaching out to those who aren’t fortunate enough to even have enough food to eat.

I work online, and I work really hard. My friends know that, and I do it for one simple reason. I don’t want my kids to go hungry, and I want to be able to provide them with everything they need. However, there are millions of other kids worldwide who are dying from malnutrition, and from dire hunger. Do you know that 1 child dies from hunger every 6 seconds? This is a sad reality, but we can certainly do something about it. We bloggers are so busy thinking of how to prettify our blogs, how to advertise, how to earn more. This mother’s day (or even on an ordinary day!), maybe it’s time we do something for someone, say donate a few dollars to support a hungry child. If you have taken the time and the price of sponsoring online contests, I ask you to take the same time and price to feed the hungry.

This Mother’s Day, you can help by sending your mom an ecard from the World Food Programme. This will surely be a meaningful way to celebrate Mother’s Day if you can make your mom not only happy, but proud.

Mother's Day

I choose to be part of Bloggers Against Hunger. How about you?
