When I was a young child, I think during Grade 2 or 3, I dreamed of being a teacher. I wanted to teach, and it was also because I was very fond of kids. However, this dream vanished when my parents kept telling me that it wasn’t a good career for me because teachers don’t earn much money. They wanted me to go into business, just like they are and the rest of the family. When I was in the call center industry, my love for teaching rekindled as I aimed to be a trainer. That was my goal for promotion. I never aimed to be a team leader nor a manager.
This is why I greatly admire Filipino educator Efren Peñaflorida who has just been awarded by CNN as “2009 Hero of the Year.” This is great for us Filipinos. And he is truly a hero because educating street children through his push cart classroom program doesn’t exactly earn him any money. And this for me is sincerity to help. A true hero in the very essence of the word. Congratulations to you, Sir Efren. You give true pride and glory to us Filipinos.
And for this, may I also say, that I think he deserves a hero’s welcome as well as the Order of Sikatuna. In fact, I would even boldly say that he deserves it as much as Manny Pacquiao does (maybe even more!). May there be more people like Efren Peñaflorida who aim to help our fellowmen. Especially those who are planning to run for office in next year’s Philippine elections. *rolls eyes*
CONGRATULATIONS SIR EFREN!

hi sam! im back to blogging and hopping!
OT: where do u get ur themes and logos? im planning to get my own domain but want to check my options first. i like ur lay-out, promise!
I also wanted to become a teacher as a child it has nothing to do with money. This passion is from the heart. I am in the middle of trying to get me credits I hope at some point I will be able to achieve this. My daughter is on her way to college so I have to take things slowly since she will need me to help her out.
Every teacher who teaches from the heart deserves and a medal and the person you are speaking of deserves to have a shine in the spot light. God bless him and your family.
