I’m joining this week’s Mommy Journey once again! And this week’s theme is to write a love letter for our babies.

Dear Sab and Sanjo,

Both of you have brought me so much joy and happiness. And you both complete me. I could never love anyone as much as I love you babies, and no matter what happens, no matter how much time passes by..always keep in your hearts that mommy will always be here, and that I love you both so very much. Sab, it brings Mommy so much tears and pain that you’re not here with me, but in God’s time I know we will be together again. I love you so so much. Sanjo, you may be a real handful most days, but you give me more happiness than headaches..and for that, I love you very much. I can’t wait for us to be a whole family soon. I’m praying real hard, and I’m doing everything I can to make it happen.

Also, I would like you both to remember that you’re brother and sister, and that you should always respect and love each other. Always.

Lots of hugs and kisses from Mommy.. <3

I can still vividly remember when Sabyn was 6 months old and I accidentally dropped the electric kettle on the floor, with boiling water all over my feet, and unfortunately, some splashed on Sabyn’s arm. I, being the paranoid mom that I am, panicked. It took me about 3 minutes to regain my composure, and I immediately brought Sabyn under the shower so that the running water would somehow soothe the burning sensation. I had to wait about half an hour before the nanny got back from the grocery, and we then rushed Sabyn to the emergency room of the nearby hospital. This was VERY traumatic for both Sabyn and me, and although she no longer remembers this incident, it has definitely left me a good lesson to learn.

So for this week’s Mommy Moment Meme, I want to share with you first aid tips for mild burns.

1. Never ever apply toothpaste on top of the burned area. This will only make things worse!

2. Do not immediately place ice or very cold water as this may cause the burned area to swell or fill with water.

3. If an infant or toddler is involved, make sure to bring him/her to the nearest hospital so that the doctors can make sure that everything is OK.

I am not a medical expert, so those tips I shared are just the ones that I have learned from experience.

Till the next Mommy Moments entry!

I remember Sab as a very good little baby. She barely complained, she barely cried unless she’s hungry. I wouldn’t even know she pooped unless I smell it. She slept a lot (like most newborns do), but the one thing that really stood out is how strong she was. I can vividly remember the first time we went to see her pediatrician on her 2nd week. She was scheduled to get a shot, and although she cried for about a minute when the needle suddenly pierced her skin, she immediately stopped right as the needle was taken out. I didn’t even have to soothe her! She’s really a very jolly kid, and I knew that even when she was still a newborn. I love her to bits.

Anyway, here are some pictures of Sab when she was still just a few days old:

As for Sanjo, he and his Achi Sab have a few things in common, although they have more things that are complete opposites from each other. They both have huge appetites. Sanjo likes to cry a lot though. My mom says it’s because I cried a lot during my pregnancy, that’s why the baby felt it and has affected his emotions. I don’t know how true that is, but crying baby or not, he’s still our little bundle of joy.

The one thing I would say about Sanjo as a newborn is that he looks so much like his dad. They’re like two peas in a pod. Simply adorable.

Really great to be back and be able to do my weekly meme for Mommy Moments. In fact, after writing this, I will be writing for next week’s topic and have it scheduled so I won’t miss any more Mommy Moments post. LOL.

This week’s topic is New Year’s List. This is a toughie. For a mom like me, there are tons of things that I want to accomplish this year.

1. I want to earn more than just enough for me and my family. This would mean working harder and working a little more that usual. I want to be comfortable, and give Sanjo more than just what he needs and little more fun like a playgym. Our family budget is usually just enough to cover the basic necessities, and it’s difficult living from paycheck to paycheck. I want to overcome that, and hopefully have more opportunities for the coming days and months.

2. I want to focus on healthy eating. For Sanjo I have no problem. Even with Sab, I started them with organic baby food from Healthy Options, and this is not something that I will scrimp on when it comes to my kids. Health definitely comes first, but I think I need to do it for myself as well. Need to lessen eating so much sweets, and start eating healthier. This way, I can also do #3 which is..

3. Lose weight. This is probably the most that I weigh in all my 26 years, and I am just not happy. Not because of being fat, but the thought of being unhealthy fat. I am not used to being this heavy (I think am around 140 pounds), and I should trim that down to my usual 110-115 pound- weight. This won’t be easy, but I did purchase some pills yesterday to aid me in increasing my metabolism. And I promised myself I will at least get a little dance workout early in the morning when everyone else is asleep. Ha. Ha.

4. I want to save money for myself. I have been wanting to get myself vaccinated..not really sure if it’s called HPV vaccine, but it’s the one that decreases my chances of getting cercival cancer. The cost isn’t really overly expensive, but we don’t have funds for it, so I want to work hard and be able to save up for it, and hopefully get my shots before the end of the year. Again, this is also part of my being healthy.

Those are the things that are on top of my New Year’s list, and I really hope that I will be able to accomplish them all.

Will keep you guys updated!
